MORE THAN 45,000 VISITORS AT MADE EXPO, SICUREZZA AND SMART BUILDING EXPO
Successful synergy between the fairs, for the first time at the same time. More than 700 companies took part in this event dedicated to the building industry. Technology, sustainability, innovation in building materials, cyber security, artificial intelligence, digitalisation: these are the drivers of the 2021 edition of MADE expo, SICUREZZA and SMART BUILDING EXPO that attracted 45,516 professional visitors.
The three events, held at the same time for the first time, gave an all-round view of materials, technologies and regulations for the building and urban environment with over 700 companies present.
MADE expo was the right showcase for presenting highly innovative construction products to the trade. One of the most innovative, and with a strong sustainability component, are bonds capable of trapping pollutants and purifying the air through a photosynthesis process similar to that of plants. In addition, sound-absorbing and soundproofing panels made entirely of 100% recyclable plastic. Then there is also room for technological innovation thanks to structures with anti-seismic properties able to absorb the oscillations of buildings in the event of an earthquake.
SICUREZZA and SMART BUILDING EXPO showcased the best in security, fire prevention and systems solutions that make buildings and cities smart. Artificial intelligence, deep learning, integration between technologies that become components of highly advanced platforms for the management of the home and the entire building, benches that are transformed into tools for recharging bicycles and electric scooters, but also in reception and protection areas, where video surveillance and sound systems allow immediate contact with the police in the event of danger: on show were the results of the research and development of a sector that in the last two years has never stopped, but has effectively contributed to the return to the new normality.
These simultaneous events all had a common denominator: the positive response from the public and companies” says Luca Palermo, CEO and General Manager of Fiera Milano. “Exhibiting companies reported that visitors to the three events were of a high quality. The presence of international visitors was also significant, with 94 countries represented during the course of the exhibition. Lastly, the simultaneous nature of the fairs was also a success. The objective of working as a team, exploiting potential synergies in the supply chain and in content, was largely achieved. We live in an era of increasing interconnection between sectors and trade fairs must increasingly play the role of an accelerator of business opportunities also by fostering these connections”.
Connections that developed mainly through the rich schedule of events. More than 150 training meetings have been held in recent days: from the sustainability of renovation work to cyber security, passing through professional certification, regulations, the evolution of the smart city and topics related to incentives, super bonuses and concessions. All the events were a confirmation of the fair’s role as a business opportunity, but also as a training hub capable of interpreting the evolution of the market.
The next events, which will always be held at the same time, will be held at Fiera Milano from 15 to 17 November 2023 for SICUREZZA and SMART BUILDING EXPO and from 15 to 18 November 2023 for MADE expo.
MADE EXPO CHOOSES NOVEMBER
The trade show for building & construction industries changes date: it will still be held in 2021, but from 22nd to 25th November
Milan, January 2021 – Italy’s leading construction industry trade show, the top event for understanding and interpreting market expectations, is moving from March to November. It will be held from 22nd to 25th November 2021 at Fiera Milano (Rho), just eight months later than its original date, hoping that the shift to November will be enough to overcome the pandemic and truly represent a global restart.
The construction sector already represents the key to the revival of the economy, and this period of time will not only allow for the consolidation of the positive growth trend of the sector, but will also be essential for dealing with the health emergency with the necessary instruments and treatment.
MADE expo, which for the first time will be organized directly by Fiera Milano, through the company Made Eventi Srl, owned by Fiera Milano (60%) and Federlegno Arredo Eventi (40%), is focusing on November to express the full potential of building sector well represented by the leading international trade show, and to give voice to a Building Community represented in Italy by over 700,000 companies and more than 1,000,000 employees.
In addition the budget law approved at the end of 2020 will also support the sector and extend the validity of bonuses and incentives up to the end of 2021, along with confirmation of the option of applying discounts to invoices and credit transfers, in addition to the important extension to 30 June 2022 of the 110% Superbonus and, for buildings that completed 60% of the works in June of that year, until 31 December 2022. There will be many investments for construction sites and infrastructural renewal included in the latest renovation plan presented by the Government. All facilitations that are stimulating the economy and that in November 2021 will still be in full swing. MADE expo will be the place where every question on Bonus, SuperBonus 110%, Ecobonus, Bonus Facades, SismaBonus initiatives will be ananswered.
Fieramilano is ready today to welcome our network and offering exhibitors and operators a unique experience capable of amplifying the importance of a professional exhibition. With the innovative Fiera Milano Platform, exhibitors, buyers and visitors will be able to enjoy both a physical and digital experience: the multi-channel system available during visits to the event will keep product exhibitors and visitors connected in a realtime community linked by the new event App, My Matching, Webinars & Live Chats and by the Event Blog and Digital Signage.
All the events regarding the topics in November, that MADE expo will continue to develop in its MADE21 Observatory, remain confirmed. They will feature even more content and speakers and include TECHNOLOGY & DIGITAL, CLIMATE EFFECT, RESOURCES & RECYCLING and in particular NEXT LIVING with its focus on what the buildings, houses, offices, hotels and residential constructions will look like in a future that is here today.
Partners, professional organisations and associations all support this choice, together with ICE (the Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies), which will be assisting MADE21 in promoting the event abroad right up until its new date.
By November 2021 this enthusiasm will be at its height, as evidenced by the decision on the part of the majority of the internationally relevant trade fairs to wait until after the summer before safely going public once more in the midst of an economic recovery and a climate of renewed confidence.
Above all however, this enthusiasm can be seen from the number of exhibitors who have already chosen MADE expo 2021 as the stage from which they can present themselves. They will be accompanied by numerous other companies who want to finally take advantage of a physical place where they can demonstrate their product innovations to a network of professionals that includes designers, construction and production companies, craftsmen, window makers, contractors and buyers.

MADE EXPO 2021: THE KEY EVENT FOR THE BUILDING COMMUNITY
Milan, 14 February 2020. MADE expo, the flagship event for the design, building and construction sector will be an opportunity to present all the significant developments in the building and construction world.
The event, now in its tenth edition, will be organized directly by Fiera Milano for the first time through the Made Eventi Srl company, owned by Fiera Milano (60%) and Federlegno Arredo Eventi (40%). Fiera Milano is thus opening a global window on the world of construction and finishes. Buildings and building work contribute 8% to Italy’s GDP (source ANCE 2020 report) and by virtue of their complex and extensive supply chain which is connected to almost 90% of all economic sectors, they are able to exert the greatest driving force on the economy from among all other business sectors. Even though the current economic situation is a combination of highs and lows, the National Building Association forecast for 2020 is for an increase in construction investment of 1.7%.
In an Italian context in which the major international real estate developers are looking closely above all at the redevelopment of new urban areas, the current challenges consist in understanding and working with the latest in technological, social, environmental and regulatory trends. By turn, these are driving developments in urban agglomerations and industrial situations in order to adapt to new community needs. Environmental quality, energy, new standards and renewed international competitivity will be on display at MADE expo through an extremely stimulating context for all those players in the construction community.
Furthermore, the event will host training courses and stimulating dynamic areas alongside product displays, workshops, B2B spaces and laboratories. The new set-up will encourage the exchange of ideas and knowledge between leading market figures while companies and designers will be at the heart of a new format full of opportunities.
MADE expo, which registered 90,000 attendees in 2019 along with 900 exhibitors spread over an exhibition area of 48,000 square metres, will be on display in a completely renewed format. The exhibition will be divided into five sections, including Design, Construction, Renovation, Requalification and Maintenance which will be presented by MADE expo 2021 in a layout that will simplify the experience for visitors, promoting encounters between technical challenges and innovative solutions and between supply and demand. Thanks to these “vertical” and interconnected salons, MADE expo will play an increasingly leading role in offering formal solutions and innovative technologies.
The details are as follows. Hardware and software solutions will be presented at MADE BIM & TECH, traditional and innovative construction solutions designed to achieve the best performance in every type of building will be on display at MADE PROJECT & BUILDING where tools for surveying and land management along with infrastructure modification will also be visible. MADE COMFORT LIVING will instead host high performance materials for building and redeveloping, thereby improving the overall quality of the home alongside new technological and decorative elements. MADE WINDOWS & DOORS will demonstrate how design can interpret the best in technology for comfort and safety and finally MADE BUILDING ENVELOPE & OUTDOOR will offers a 360° view of transparent and opaque facade systems for use with glass, along with elements for use in the world of the outdoors and solar protection screens.
