AT SICAM 2024 OPTIMISM FOR THE FUTURE OF FURNITURE:
INNOVATION, CREATIVITY AND DESIGN AT THE HEART OF THE EVENT

The fifteenth edition of SICAM, the International Exhibition of Components, Accessories and Semi-finished Products for the Furniture Industry, has closed. This year 9,243 visiting companies (8,912 in 2023) from 113 countries (112 in 2023) came to Pordenone, a sign of the ‘maturity’ of an exhibition that confirms that it is an unmissable appointment for all the countries where furniture and furnishings are produced.
There were 692 exhibitors (650 in 2023) from 34 countries, on a net exhibition area of 19,135 square metres (18,420 in 2023).

We are extremely satisfied with the results of SICAM 2024,’ commented Carolina Giobbi, Head of Marketing and Communication. ‘These are important numbers, which testify to how carrying out a project that is at the service of exhibitors and visitors, that is created and constantly updated on their needs, allows a fair to maintain its value”.

A successful edition not only for the numbers, but also and above all for the climate of optimism and positivity breathed during the four days, from Tuesday 15th to Friday 18th October. ‘It is undeniable that the furniture and furnishing sector is going through a complex period, but let me tell you that all this seemed to vanish in the aisles of the fair: lots of people, lots of smiles, lots of meetings, an uninterrupted flow of opportunities to see, touch, discuss the hundreds of ideas on display.
An edition from which strongly emerged both the will to look ahead and the certainty that a sector capable of expressing so much quality and innovation – strong in niche companies attentive to extreme quality, as well as groups capable of tackling the largest markets – always has a lot to say,’ concluded Giobbi.

The last day of SICAM 2024 saw the presence at the fair of more than 300 young people from schools and educational institutes, who accepted the invitation of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia delegation of ADI (Association for industrial design) to think about the future of professions linked to the world of creativity and furnishing. A strong signal and a promise for the future of one of the strongest furniture districts in Europe.

The appointment is now with the sixteenth edition of SICAM, to be held from 14th to 17th October 2025, again in the spaces of the Pordenone Fair.

A “SOLD OUT” SICAM

As the great furniture fair in Milan has come to an end, the preparatory work is being laid in Pordenone for an excellent new edition of SICAM, the show dedicated to semi-finished products, supplies, and accessories for the furnishing industry, which will be held next October 15th-18th.
In the stands and streets of Milan it was possible to see and touch the ideas, mechanisms, decorations, and surfaces presented last October in Pordenone and that today appear in the most beautiful kitchens, tables, cabinets and furniture that will delight all the enthusiasts and lovers of “beautiful design“, who have arrived in Milan from all over the world.

A ritual that repeats itself every year and that also next October will see gathered at SICAM 2024 all the most important names of furniture supplies. All available space has long been sold: just under 20 thousand net square meters of exhibition space, thanks to the expansion of hall 5 – already used in the 2023 edition – and the additional space recovered in the area adjacent to hall 8.

“An intervention that has allowed us not only to welcome some companies that had remained on the waiting list, but also to be able to have an even more rational exhibition center, in which we can design easier and more effective visiting routes,” commented Carolina Giobbi, SICAM’s marketing and communications manager.

More than 496 stands (direct exhibitors) will animate SICAM 2024, 68% of which represent “Made in Italy” and 32% confirm the great internationality that the show has always been able to boast even on the exhibitor front. After the Italian contingent is confirmed the German group, followed by Turkey, Austria, Spain and gradually by the other foreign countries that will be present at the event.

“The numbers comfort us and tell in a very concrete way the value of the only Italian exhibition event dedicated world of furniture supplies,” continued Carolina Giobbi. “A reconfirmation rate of more than 90 percent and a waiting list to which we unfortunately cannot give satisfaction we believe are the best way to confirm the good shape of the exhibition.”

CARLO GIOBBI OPENS THE DOORS TO THE “SECOND GENERATION” OF SICAM

It is time to open the doors to the second generation of SICAM to my children Carolina and Michele, and involve them in an even stronger and more direct way in the management of this beautiful fair which, thanks to the exhibitors and visitors who choose us every year, has become a consolidated point of reference in the international calendar of exhibitions”.

With these words Carlo Giobbi – founder of SICAM, the international exhibition of components, accessories and semi-finished products for the furniture industry – announced that he wanted to give continuity and further impetus to the event by involving Carolina and Michele Giobbi in an even stronger and more direct way, always alongside his father in this endeavor.

The news – communicated to the numerous journalists present at the opening press conference of SICAM 2023, which took place from 17 to 20 October – was greeted with long and moving applause. Carlo Giobbi immediately wanted to clarify that this is certainly not a handover, but the dutiful recognition of the work done by his children in recent years and an incitement to continue a highly successful path in a time that requires fair organizers to be up to date with the transformations underway.

“We must look to the future, demonstrating that we have the will and energy to enrich our position as an effective meeting point between people with new content,” concluded Giobbi. “The vision, skills and experience of Carolina and Michele will allow us, I am sure, to continue to represent a quality experience and a concrete business opportunity for the world of furniture supplies”.
